Amazing: since 1 July 2011 my panoramas uploaded to Panoramic Earth have enjoyed 40,777 views!
Thanks to Peter Watts for building a great site with stunning locations and a global community of similarly obsessed panoramicists (new word).
I only have two panoramas on there, but I see they have garnered about 2000 views. Even allowing for robot visits, that suggests an active user community.
I can understand the dilemma. Personally, I wouldn't. I don't think it would be especially meaningful to anyone other than the contributors - whose number is minute, compared to your visitor traffic. Your site isn't remotely competitive and the value of the panoramas to the visitor is measured in the breadth of a smile or the readiness to visit or simply the enjoyment of the view. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be OK. Thanks again for a 'revolutionary' site.
Very good! Thanks for the link. I need to spend some time there.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some impressive statistics!

ReplyDeletepanoramicearth.com is a big hitter. 350,000 VT images served out each month! Which puts me in my place.
DeleteWe have debated showing the stats for each panorama on their specific page, but have yet to make a final decision on that one.

DeleteA bit late to notify, but Panoramic Earth is no longer live. Still, there's always 360cities.net
